Brean Down and Brean Down fort

Brean Down is a national trust site located at the coast of Brean Sands, it’s a 97-metre cliff with views spreading over the Bristol Channel and is home to a Victorian fort.
The main access to the top of the cliff is a steep climb of around 200 steps- although there is a more accessible route with a smoother incline, there are also mobility scooters to hire on-site (pre-booking advised).
Brean Down is a free admission site, although car parking is a £5 fee. There is also a cafe situated at the bottom of the cliff, as well as toilet facilities.
Once at the top, there is a chance to explore the Victorian Fort that was built to protect the Bristol Channel, it was also used in WW2. Walking around the fort you’ll get to learn its history with information scattered all around the fort.
During your time on the cliff keep an eye peeled for wildlife as there are often peregrine falcons, goats and rare plants spotted.
